So a story is what you're looking for? I'm afraid I have none. It is merely a device I use to isolate my senses from the rest of the world, and so I can avoid looking at idiots. It also has the added benefit of preventing my students from being distracted by my appearance.

I have found, lately, that I am in need of it for the first two reasons.

Why should I have to adjust my own behaviour to accommodate their idiocy? I already had a solution—that headpiece. It solves all problems beautifully, does it not?

but its also kind of a cope out isnt it?

you dont need to change yourself just to accommodate others but rather than hide behind the safety of a headpiece why dont you just learn how to disengage from futile convos instead?

wearing that headpiece isnt gonna make the idiots disappear or stop disagreements from taking place
you also dont need it to close the network or walk away

It is not conflict resolution. It is for my own peace of mind.

I do avoid futile conversations. Some idiots are simply that persistent. If you've the fortune not to consistently encounter fools as you go about your day-to-day life back home, then consider yourself lucky.

Regardless, attempting to dissuade me from using the headpiece is not going to change my desire to have it back. Are you willing to return it to me? Yes or no.
